Thought For The Week - Are You A Team Player?
Updated: Oct 10

"Alone we can do little; together we can do so much." - Helen Keller
We all know there is no 'I' in team, but team dynamics go much deeper than this. Are you so focused on the differences with those around you instead of what you have in common that you are contributing to the disfunction of the team or a relationship? If so, it is time to make a course correction! Be a better listener and ask yourself a couple questions then ask the same questions to those around you:
Do I give more or take more?
What is it like to work, play, or be in a relationship with me?
The bottom line is to find the common ground with others instead of being distracted by the differences. Rather than being critical, jumping to conclusions, or making blame based generalizations, seek to understand your coworkers, your teammate's and/or your partner's position before offering your contribution. You might learn something AND your team or relationship will likely be better for it.
Galatians 6:3-4 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themsleves alone, without comparing themselves to anyone else.
