Thought For The Week - Are You Taking Personal Responsibility For The Decisions You Make?

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of." — Jim R.

Do you find yourself blaming others or some entity for the consequences of YOUR choices and decisions? It is an easy place to turn to when things don't go 'your' way or aren't 'fair'. This action may give you a momentary 'feeling' of relief or even power, but unwarranted finger pointing will not likely turn your situation around. A pattern of failing to take responsibility can lead to a negative spiral where a person begins to believe they can never climb out of the pit they find themself in, BUT this just isn't true.

We all have had or will have moments of discouragement. This is to be expected. The key to getting back on track is to accept responsibility for our actions, forgive ourselves for making poor choices/decisions, forgive others for their choices/decisions that impact us negatively, learn from the results of our choices/decisions, and move forward with a positive attitude. You MUST bellieve in yourself and your ability to make better, wiser choices. You can do it! Do not give up! You control your attitude and the decisions you make.

Galatians 6:4 - 'Let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.'
