"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."...quote by Herbert Gerjoy included in Alvin Toffler's Future Shock. Toffler expanded on this perspective by saying "We must search out totally new ways to anchor ourselves, for all the old roots—religion, nation, community, family, or profession—are now shaking under the hurricane impact of the accelerative thrust."

Discernment requires humility—the willingness to be corrected by truth. Growth in is not only about learning what is right, but about unlearning what is false and relearning how to think. A rigid mind resists renewal; a submitted mind is continually shaped by the Spirit. Those who walk faithfully do not cling to old patterns out of pride, but allow biblical truth to refine their understanding so they may recognize His will clearly and walk in it without compromise.

Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.”
