Thought For The Week - The Power Of Sacrifice

“Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you're not really losing it. You're just passing it on to someone else.” — Mitch Albom. True intentionality understands that a sacrifice made in obedience is never a loss. When you sacrifice your comfort, your emotions, and/or your "precious" resources, you aren't losing them; you are passing them into the hands of someone who needs encouragement and love. You are trading temporary satisfaction for eternal joy.

What are you white-knuckling today? What "precious" thing are you afraid to sacrifice because you think it will be a loss? Sacrifice won't deplete you. It will transfer something you may treasure to a greater purpose.

Mark 14:6,9 “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me... Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.

Mary "lost" her treasure, and she gained an eternal legacy. Stop viewing obedience as a subtraction. Break the jar. Trust His hands.
